North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

MIDDLESBROUGH Council is asking residents to work with them again this year and use the recycling site at The Parkway in Coulby Newham correctly.

Last year was a big success with a significant reduction in the amount of excess waste left at the site and Middlesbrough Council is keen that this continues again this year.

The site became an issue two years ago when tons of waste was flytipped beside the recycling bins.

The Council has also again committed to extra cleansing of the recycling site at Coulby Newham over Christmas and New Year.

Additional CCTV monitoring and recording will also take place for evidence gathering in order that enforcement action can be taken against fly tippers.

Residents are also advised that over the festive period the town’s refuse workers will take side waste – black bags left beside the normal weekly collection bin – for two weeks from Tuesday, December 27 to Friday, January 6.

Excess recycling can also be placed out for collection in clear plastic bags along with their blue-lidded recycling bin.

  • If residents require clear plastic bags for excess recycling they should contact the Council via the website www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/recycling, email: customerservicecentre@middlesbrough.gov.uk or by telephone, 01642 726001.
