Aladdin Jr. Brings Magic to Middlesbrough Theatre

Screen Shot 2015-06-25 at 16.01.56A MAGIC carpet will be flying into town next month when Disney’s Aladdin Jr. premieres at Middlesbrough Theatre.

Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail!

The MTH Performing Arts production on July 20 and 21 of the Disney hit features all the family favourites including Aladdin and Jasmin – and of course the Genie.

Audiences are guaranteed a fantastic evening’s entertainment filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides.

The stage adaptation features the Academy award-winning score with songs including A Whole New World and Friend Like Me which have secured Aladdin’s place as a musical a favourite for many years to come.

Aladdin Jr. is the annual production from young people who attend Middlesbrough Town Hall’s popular Saturday performing arts classes for seven- to 16-year-olds and follows last year’s box-office breaking performance of Annie Jr.

Children have been working with puppets alongside leading tutors who have studied at renowned drama schools – LAMDA, the Central School of Speech and Drama and Italia Conti.

Tutor David Tuffnell said: “Our Saturday classes have really helped our students increase their skills in drama, singing and dance.

“Come along to see Aladdin Jr. and witness all they have learned put into practice in what will be two fantastic nights for all the family to enjoy!”

MTH Performing Arts production of Aladdin Jr. is at Middlesbrough Theatre on Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 21 July at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £9.50 (£8 concessions).
