Britain’s Got Talent star Alfie Joey will be compering the eagerly-awaited Autumn Laffalang  next month.

The top comedian who, with his mimic partner Cal Halbert, won fans nationally on the ITV show in May, has previously compered the zany Laffalang show and will be bringing his own brand of humour to the proceedings that are guaranteed lots of laughs.

Alfie, who was last seen in South Shields compering UB40 at the recent Bents Park summer concerts, also co-presents BBC Radio Newcastle Breakfast Show with Charlie Charlton. He has also appeared in TV shows like Hebburn, Ideal and even Coronation Street.

Laffalang producer and director Gareth Hunter said: “We are delighted Alfie has agreed to compere the autumn show. There will be another dozen or so hilarious, original sketches linked by Alfie, who is  a fantastic comedian

“He was a massive hit when he performed at the Laffalang a couple of years ago and due to work commitments this is the first opportunity he has had to return to the Laffalang.

“It will be a brilliant night!”

In August, the Laffalang team continued its partnership with Sunday for Sammy when the troupe presented a Sketch for Sammy at the Stand comedy club in Newcastle, attracting a sell-out crowd of 250 people.

The Autumn Laffalang will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 28 and 29, at 7.30pm at the Westovian Theatre, Ocean Road, South Shields, NE33 2JS (opposite the new Haven Point sports centre).

Tickets cost only £11 and are available from the Visitor Information Centre in Haven Point sports centre. Telephone (0191) 4247788.

A post-show bucket collection will be made for Breast Cancer Now.
