North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Alright Teesside?

Teesside’s annual celebration for World Mental Health Day is coming to Stockton to show people how they can feel so much better than just alright.

From midday to 8pm on Tuesday 10 October, everyone is invited to meet the 45 local groups and organisations that will gather in the Arc, Dovecot Street, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1LL.

The day has been set up to promote mental health in the workplace and raise awareness of the support services available in the area.

There will be a whole host of activities for all ages throughout the day, including live music, children’s activities, smoothie making, poetry and an exclusive screening of a video that aims to break down the stigma attached to mental health.

Free buses will be running from Middlesbrough and Redcar to take people to and from the event. For the bus schedule and stop locations, as well as the full timetable of activities go to alrightteesside.com.

There will also be the chance to win a signed Middlesbrough Football Club shirt, a £50 designer shopping voucher and lots more.

Emma Howitt, Chief Executive of Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind said: “With the support of Middlesbrough council, Redcar and Cleveland Council and Stockton Council, this promises to be the largest mental health event Teesside has ever seen.

“My colleagues and our partners who work across mental health services are really excited to meet residents, show them what support is out there and encourage people to take their mental health as seriously as their physical health.”

In the run up to World Mental Health Day, Alright Teesside is hosting two community events in the Community Heart Redcar and Cleveland on Tuesday 3 October and at the Holiday Inn Middlesbrough on Wednesday 4 October.

Both events run from midday until 5pm with a range of activities such as laughter yoga and meditation classes.
