North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Amelia Coburn, Teesside born singer and songwriter, has been selected as one of only four nominees in this year’s BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards. Having completed a workshop and performance weekend in Kendal recently with other finalists she impressed the judges with her stunning voice, original material and unique take on classic songs.

Form playing open-mic events, pubs and clubs just over a year ago to selling out each of her solo shows through 2016, collaborating with local musicians and writing evocative, folk-based originals songs, Amelia has developed into a sophisticated and versatile performer and has garnered high praise from some of her own musical heroes.

The next stage of the awards sees Amelia join the other finalists at The Royal Albert Hall on the 5th April at the BBC Folk Awards which will be broadcast live on Radio 2.

Amelia’s next performance on Teesside is at Arc, Stockton on April 1st. Tickets are already selling very well and are now expected to be in even higher demand.
