The event will take place between 9.30am and 1.15pm on Wednesday November 4 at Durham County Cricket Club and will see key speakers from Altair Limited and Trowers & Hamlins LLP discuss the financial implications of the Government’s plans, the possibilities of shared services and what good governance and management will look like in the future.

Rod Brasington, Chief Executive of NE Procurement, said: “This seminar will be a great opportunity for those involved in the North East housing sector to see what possibilities the recent Government changes opens up for their organisation or customers, it’s not all as negative as we’re being led to believe.”

As Chair to The Community Housing Group, Andy Ballard has significant experience in governance and organisational re-structuring. His time in providing legal advice for ALMO and LA options means he is well-equipped to discuss what the financial implications of recent Government changes mean for North East housing organisations and what good governance and management will look like in the future.

Described by the Chambers and Partners Guide to the Legal Profession as ‘very commercially aware’, Mark Robinson from Trowers & Hamlins LLP, has extensive experience in procurement strategies and options, making him the perfect person to discuss shared services and the possibilities such services create.

The seminar is sponsored by Stelrad, Adey Heating Solutions and Ideal Boilers, organisations all involved in NE Procurement’s supply chain.

Stelrad offer the widest range of steel panel radiator styles and sizes in the UK and have the most comprehensive selection of products, towel warmers and low surface temperature radiators.

Adey Heating Solutions is the UK’s leading manufacturer of magnetic filters which maintain and protect central heating systems in thousands of homes around the UK.

Ideal Boilers specialise in domestic and heating boilers for everything from new build housing to social housing and have a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

NE Procurement is a procurement consortium set up by a number of social housing landlords to provide members with labour, materials and services through their various frameworks which offer value for money solutions and efficiencies to the procurement process. Its members consist of social housing organisations who collectively manage over 220,000 properties across the region.
