AN urban beauty retreat has opened at one of Newcastle’s leading city centre hotels.
All About You, at the Grade II-listed Grey Street Hotel, is offering everything from facials and massages, to pedicures and spray tans to women – and men – in need of a daytime, post work or pre-night out boost.
Customers can choose from a menu of skin and body treatments using the Elemis product range, opt for OPI manicures and pedicures and relax with friends and partners with a choice of pamper packages.
And owner Elaine Beattie said the venue, which comprises three treatment rooms, a nail bar, a pedicure station and a make-up area on a mezzanine level – is the perfect place in which to end the day and prepare for the evening – or visit as part of a day trip to town.
“Customers can call in after work and enjoy a soothing stress busting massage before heading home, or pop in with their friends for a manicure and makeover before they head off for a night on the town,” she said.
“We also hope people visiting the town centre for a day’s shopping will build us into their plans.
“And whether they have time to linger over a glass of fizz or are squeezing a visit into their packed schedule, they will do so in an exquisitely stylish setting – it’s an oasis of calm in a frantically busy world.”
All About You is the latest stage of a £1.2m development programme at Grey Street Hotel, which is owned by Newcastle hospitality giant, Malhotra Group plc.
This includes the refurbishment of its 49 bedrooms, which combine contemporary luxury with unique tributes to the city’s heritage, the extension and development of the hotel’s main conference room to hold more than 100 people and a smaller meeting room to hold five people.”
Following the beauty retreat’s launch, operations director, Atul Malhotra, said: “These refurbishments and the creation of All About You have helped Grey Street Hotel regain its position as the most elegant hotel in the city.

All About You is open from 10am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
