MORE than 300 cyclists have already signed up for this year’s BIG Bike Ride on Sunday (11 June).

And there’s still time to join them as they pedal their way to being more active across the city.

Victoria French, Head of Events for Sunderland City Council, said: “The Active Sunderland BIG Bike Ride is one of our most popular annual events and has something for every cyclist, you can also enjoy seeing some of the city’s finest locations.

“We already have more than 300 cyclists signed up, but we want to see as many people as possible taking part. I would encourage anyone who has not entered to come along on Sunday and register for one of the two rides on offer.”

Entries will continue to be taken online up until Wednesday 7 June 2016 after which you can turn up on the day and register.

The Active Sunderland BIG Bike will start and finish at the University of Sunderland’s Sir Tom Cowie Campus on St Peter’s Riverside. Starting at 9.30am, cyclists have a choice of two distances, 20 or 35 miles across the city.

Registration is open from 8am.

Entry
Entry is only £10 per person and includes an Active Sunderland backpack, medal and goody bag.
