The six-floor Boho Five business unit is the latest addition to the town’s Boho Zone in Middlehaven and since opening its doors just over two months ago it has become home to more than 10 new tenants.

Cover Choice, TAD Web Solutions, Space Group, SwapBuy, Stripe 4, Awesome, House of Content, Vanilla Bean Creative, Slikk Design and I Love Wristbands join the list of business to move in.

At over 24,000 sq ft the building offers office accommodation for up to 50 small and medium-sized enterprises exclusively in the digital and creative sector.

The opening of Boho Five marked a significant milestone in the regeneration of Middlehaven and at the official opening Northern Powerhouse Minister James Wharton MP hailed the high quality of the build.

One of the newest tenants to sign up is architectural and building information modeling firm Space Group which has its headquarters in Gosforth, Newcastle. The business, which also has offices in Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Manchester and Rugby had been searching for suitable office accommodation in Middlesbrough too.

Jonathan Curwen, Senior Architectural Technologist at Space Group, said: “Boho Five provides excellent facilities at a competitive price and its great transportation links make it perfect for easy connection to our other offices.

“The building’s striking appearance combined with further exciting developments due in the Middlehaven area made it a fitting place to locate an architectural business.”

Denis Shail, Managing Director of online insurance provider Cover Choice, said: “Boho Five provided us with the perfect space to base our business, we have ambitious expansion plans and it gives us the option of taking additional space to grow.”

Ian Elcoate, Managing Director of TAD Web Solutions, said: “Being part of a digital and creative cluster was the biggest reason we chose to move to Boho Five.

“It means we are able to share ideas and knowledge and make vital business connections that could result in future collaboration.”

Councillor Charlie Rooney, Middlesbrough Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, said: “Boho Five is all about creating the ideal environment in which entrepreneurs can get their business ideas off the ground, so it’s great to see so many new tenants taking advantage of this fantastic location.

“They’ve seen the clear potential that Boho and the wider Middlehaven site have to offer, and are at the forefront of our flourishing digital and creative economy.

“They’re playing an important part in Middlesbrough’s regeneration, and I will follow their progress with interest.”

The Homes and Communities Agency and Middlesbrough Council through European Regional Development Fund and HCA investment have developed Boho Five in partnership, and the building will operate in close partnership with DigitalCity Business.
