Technical outdoor socks and accessories specialist, Bridgedale, has donated 500 pairs of its walking socks to a Gateshead charity, who provides a variety of educational programmes through outdoor activities for disadvantaged people of all ages and community groups in the area.
WinG (Wayout in Gateshead) offers a wide selection of outdoor learning opportunities, through outdoor adventures such as rock climbing, hillwalking and map reading, camping, mountain biking and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. Activities can last from half a day to several consecutive days, helping young people to grow and develop in the outdoors and for older groups to meet new people and stay active.
As part of the scheme, WinG also offers free outdoor equipment to ensure individuals are protected against the elements and stay safe under the guidance of its experienced instructors. Having comfortable feet is essential during any outdoor activity and now, thanks to Bridgedale’s sock donation, participants can enjoy the benefits of warm, dry and comfortable feet.
Like WinG, Bridgedale understands the importance of getting people of all ages and abilities into the great outdoors and has been Duke of Edinburgh’s Award sock of choice for seven years running.
