RETAILERS at one of the North East’s leading shopping centres are getting behind the busiest shopping day of the year.
Black Friday – which takes place on 24 November this year – is an annual discount day when retailers offer a whole host of bargains in the run up to Christmas.
And the Bridges shopping centre, Sunderland, is promising it will be one of the best seasonal shopping days yet, with scores of stores not only offering fantastic deals – but also staying open until 7pm.
Offers available on Friday include 40 per cent off at The Body Shop, 20 per cent off selected lines at Clarks, 15 per cent off at Buxom Cosmetics at Debenhams – which opens at 8am on the day – and up to 70 per cent discount at both The Entertainer and Menkind.
Shoppers can also take advantage of up to 50 per cent off at Topshop and Topman, up to 40 per cent at Schuh and a special, limited edition scratch card deal at Footasylum, in which visitors can get a discount of up to 100 per cent off their items scanned at the till point, prior to being given a scratch card.
The Black Friday bargains are just some of the incentives up for grabs this Christmas at the Bridges, which is also running its annual gift card giveaway, where anyone spending £100 or more can claim a free £10 gift card.
The gift card offer is also available on all late night shopping evenings from now until 22 December when claimants take proof of their purchases to the customer service desk.
The shopping centre has also extended its opening hours in the run-up to Christmas, and will be open until 8pm Monday to Friday from 11 – 22 December.
During this time, shoppers will also be able to park for free in the Bridges’ Debenhams and roof top car parks from 5.30pm until 9pm, as an added incentive to bring visitors into the city centre.
