Bring in the New Year at the Stadium of Light

FAVOURITE SOUNDS of the past will herald in the New Year, at an exciting party night at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

To mark the beginning of 2017, SAFC will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Gala Ball, which includes a five course dinner and live music celebrating the hits of the 80s and 90s.

The event, which will begin with a Buck’s Fizz reception, includes a showcase of some of 1879 Events Management’s top dishes, starting with a cream of celeriac soup with crispy onions and truffle oil, followed by a smoked salmon and shellfish salad or a vegetarian option of heritage tomato salad with goat’s curd, rocket and herb dressing.

Diners will enjoy herb butter roasted fillet of Northumberland beef with all the trimmings with a Jerusalem artichoke and wild mushroom parcel for non-meat eaters.

This will be followed by a dessert of chocolate orange truffle with confit orange and salted caramel ice cream and cheese and biscuits.

For those who aren’t too full to move there is the opportunity to dance the rest of the evening away to tribute act, We Love The 80s/90s, with the arrival of 2017 marked in true tradition – to the sounds of Scottish pipers.

Rachel Divers, Head of Commercial Sales at SAFC, said the ball was already proving very popular.

“The ball is going to be a fantastic way to bring in 2017 and it promises to be a real party,” she said.

“We’ve put together a delicious menu and some first class entertainment and it should really be a night to remember.”

Tickets for the ball are £52.95 per person and can be booked by calling 0871 911 1555 or emailing Christmas@safc.com
