Scalini's landscape 1TWO top Italian eateries in Newcastle are wishing diners “buona pasqua” with special Easter Sunday menus.

Scalini’s, at Great North Road, Gosforth and Osborne Road, Jesmond, have each unveiled three course menus for Sunday 5 April, devised specially by their head chefs in honour of the occasion.

Smoked mackerel bruschetta, confit of duck terrine and  pan-seared potato gnocchi are among the starters on offer at Scalini’s Jesmond, while main courses include roast sirloin of beef, slow cooked shoulder of lamb, grilled cod and leek, feta cheese and bulgar wheat patties.

For dessert, diners can then choose from apple and blackberry crumble, salted caramel and chocolate torte and black cherry and marshmallow cheesecake.

Alternatively, Scalini’s at Gosforth, is offering starters including spiced cod pastella, garlic bread topped with mascarpone and mozzarella and venison and beef meatballs with crostini.

These are followed by main courses such as pulled pork and chorizo calzone, grilled salmon, aubergine and tomato skewers and risotto with roasted garlic squash and a choice of desserts, such as mixed berry Eton mess and Nutella-filled gnocchi with churros.

The Easter Sunday menus are priced £9.95 for one course, £13.45 for two or £15.95 for three courses.
