RMT Accountants & Business Advisors is ready to build on another successful year after making a raft of new appointments across the practice.

The independent firm has added six new people to its Gosforth-based team in response to new client wins across all areas of the business, and especially within its Healthcare and Outsourcing operations.

And further new appointments are expected to follow in the next few months as a result of other business development opportunities that are now coming to fruition.

Two new recruits have joined the RMT Healthcare team, which is acknowledged as one of the UK’s leading specialist medical and healthcare accountancy practices, and has the largest dedicated team outside of London.

Richie Walker has joined the healthcare tax team, while Rehan Shafiq is now working in its accounts team.

Elsewhere in the business, Joanne Lumley has taken up an accounts senior post within the RMT accounts team, alongside Shabaz Askary, while Lyndsey McKenna has joined its Corporate Tax team and Helen Watson is now part of the firm’s fast-growing outsourcing  team.

RMT provides the full range of financial and business advisory services through its accountancy, specialist tax, medical and healthcare, corporate finance and recovery and insolvency teams.

Founded more than 60 years ago, it works with companies of all sizes both within and outside the North East, and its Medical & Healthcare division now acts for well over 1,000 medical professionals right across the UK.

Mike Pott, managing director at RMT, adds: “Bringing in the right calibre of staff at the right time is a crucial part to building our business, and we’re very pleased to be adding some highly talented individuals to the RMT team.

“Over the last few years, we’ve found an increasing interest from clients in outsourcing their accounting function to us, as well as payroll management, human resources and technology management, and we’re continuing to bring in the experts we need to meet this demand.

“Healthcare has long been one of RMT’s strongest areas, but the increasing complexity of medical finances, particularly within primary care, has seen us growing quickly and consistently in this area.

“Our range of services is expanding and developing all the time to help our clients continue to meet both their personal and commercial goals, and we’re expecting to see this pattern of growth maintained in the months and years to come.”
