Caribbean Social opens its doors to Ageing Better Middlesbrough

Anyone over the age of 50 is invited for free hot drinks, board games and friendship at the launch of a new Café Meet Up in Turtle Bay next Thursday (23 November).

The event is held at Middlesbrough’s new Caribbean themed restaurant and bar, Turtle Bay, 32 Corporation Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3RX from 4pm to 7pm.

To book a place call 01642 257034.

Café Meet Ups are an initiative set up by Ageing Better Middlesbrough, a Big Lottery funded project that is working to tackle loneliness and social isolation in older people. They provide a safe and accessible place for people to come together.

Rebeca Hughes, Marketing and Information Officer at Ageing Better Middlesbrough said: “We are really excited about this latest addition to our programme and love the enthusiasm from our new partner Turtle Bay.

“As well as a nice hot drink and good conversation, there will be table games for everyone to enjoy.

“After the launch event Turtle Bay will continue to offer free tea, coffee and games on the fourth Thursday of the month from 4pm to 7pm.”

Ageing Better Middlesbrough has over 1800 members who receive regular information about what is happening in Middlesbrough, helping people to stay active and connected to their community.
