Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2016-03-03 at 13.50.13Staff at Richmondshire District Council have handed over almost £3000 to local and national charities by ‘dressing down’ once a month!

Fourteen different groups have received support in the last 12 months – including the Nepalese Disaster Fund, Breast Cancer Now, Ataxia UK and the Influence Church Flood Bank.

Officers are able to don jeans and more casual attire on one Friday every month – but must pay £1 to do so! And with home made cakes to buy, those pounds have added up to £2,965.42!

“Staff are asked to nominate charities to collect for and in return we are all able to dress down to work for one day a month.” said Managing Director, Tony Clark.

“It’s a great way of fund raising, especially helping such worthwhile local causes.”
