Crook based sales and letting agents Charles Derby Estates Wear Valley have become the latest official sponsor of Crook Town Wanderers F.C. Charles Derby Estates now joins a growing number of local businesses pledging support for the Crook & District League team.
Crook Town Wanderers was formed in 2006 by Steven Fairgrieve. After growing from strength to strength the hardworking volunteer team, also managed by Steven, recently reached the Semi Final of the County Cup, which is the biggest competition they could reach at their level.
Many talented players demonstrate their footballing skills every week for Crook Town Wanderers. Ran as a non-profit making organisation means Steven and everyone involved in the club trains and plays in their spare time.
Sara Bennett, Director of Charles Derby Estates Wear Valley said:
“As a local resident of Crook I have always supported Crook Town Wanderers and it is a privilege to be in a position to pledge my support. Not only are we supporting Crook Town Wanderers but we are also investing in local organisations within the community too”. Sara added:
“They are a fantastic bunch of lads who are dedicated to their team. The effort they have put in throughout the season has been tremendous. They don’t take a wage and give up their spare time to be part of the club, all for the love of the sport. I will also be adding my support from the spectators’ bench too!”
When discussing their new sponsor Steven said: “Sara has been a breath of fresh air to us. As a team we struggled to even get money for the pitch at the start of the season. Now with Sara’s help we have everything we need. We are even treating ourselves to a new first aid kit because the magic water doesn’t do the job quite as good as it should”
As an official sponsor Sara will attend various events held by Crook Town Wanderers along with the honour of presenting end of season trophies at their annual awards evening.
Sara was presented with her official sponsorship certificate by Steven and the team at her estate agent premises on Hope Street last week.
