Teesside Hospice and Zoe’s Place have both benefited from the annual prize draw at the event which generated £148.67.

A handover took place on Wednesday, December 16, when representatives from both charities – including Teesside Hospice’s Sonny the Sunflower – received an equal share of the money from the park’s horticultural advisor Nicky Morgan.

She said: “We would just like to say a big thank you to all of the businesses who donated prizes and to everyone who came along to the Frost Fair. It was a great day and we are happy to be able to once again hand over the proceeds of the prize draw to two fantastic local charities who do so much for our community.”

Prizes given to the draw ranged from a £20 voucher for Deep Hairdressing, a free haircut from Wayne Paul’s barbers and a one hour consultation and treatment from Dermalogica, all based at Marton shops.

Also on offer was a floral bouquet from Fleur de Maison, gift hampers, a panini meal for two at Henry’s café and more prizes to be announced on the day.

The frost fair also included a farmers market, craft market, a book signing by local author Simon Coates and performances from local musicians EMM and Lisa Lawton.
