Richard said: “The event helps bring the spirit of Christmas to the people of South Tyneside, with something for all the family, whether it be Christmas shopping, or seeing Santa.

“Colmans is delighted to sponsor the Christmas Wonderland event and be part of something which brings the community together.”

Councillor Alan Kerr, deputy leader of South Tyneside Council with responsibility for Culture and Leisure, said: “We are delighted to have Colmans supporting our Christmas Wonderland programme of events this year. Colmans have been strong supporters of our annual events programme for many years and for this we are extremely grateful.

“It is through the support of our kind sponsors that we are able to stage such high profile events and activities. Events like our Christmas programme not only help to draw more people into the borough but go a long way to supporting the local economy.”
