Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Comedian Goes Back To School For Regional Charity

Calvert Trust KielderHUNDREDS of people enjoyed a one-off gig from comedian, television and radio star Rory Bremner to raise funds for disability charity Calvert Trust Kielder.
The gig at Jesmond’s Royal Grammar School raised more than £8,000 for the charity who will use the money to help give life changing experiences to disabled and disadvantaged children from across the North East along with their family, friends and carers.
The highly-entertaining show included lots of anecdotes and impressions plus a Q&A session where many of the audience got to ask Rory questions about his life and career in the entertainment industry.
Rory said he was inspired to raise money for the charity after spending a day at the centre in Kielder and being so impressed with their work that he suggested the stand-up gig as a way to raise much-needed funds.
Mr Bremner said: “Calvert Trust Kielder does wonderful things with wonderful people in a wonderful location. I’m delighted that the evening was such a great success and such a lot of money was raised for a fantastic cause.”
‘An Evening with Rory Bremner’ was sponsored by Mincoffs Solicitors.
