NORTH East based craft company, Crafter’s Companion, is helping its customers get their festive shopping underway with its first ever Christmas fair at its flagship store.

On December 11, the company’s store in Newton Aycliffe will be giving its visitors the chance to buy gifts from a number of specialist crafters selling artisan goods including wood carvings, patchwork quilts, knitted toys, handmade cards, home accessories and cakes.

The fair will also include a Crafter’s Companion stand where the team will be selling this year’s craft inspiration pieces to raise money for the Crafter’s Companion Charity Foundation.

The foundation was set up in 2016 to support local charities. The proceeds Crafter’s Companion makes from the event will be donated to the organisations it supports.

There will also be a Christmas grotto where children can meet Santa Claus and receive a special gift.

Sara Davies MBE, founder of Crafter’s Companion said, “Christmas is an amazing time of year and we wanted to hold a special event for everyone to enjoy.

“Craft is getting more and more popular and it really is the perfect way to give friends and family unique gifts they’ll love.

“This will be our first ever craft fair so we’re incredibly excited. We’ve tried to make sure there is something for the whole family because after all, that’s what Christmas is all about.

“We hope our regular crafters and people from in and around Newton Aycliffe will come along, have some festive fun with us and help us to raise some money for some amazing charities.”

The event at the Newton Aycliffe store will run from 10am until 4pm and is free to attend.

Entry to Santa’s Grotto costs £2 and pre-booking is essential, you can book your place at www.craftercompanion.co.uk/aycliffestore.

Crafter’s Companion is a leading craft supplies company which sells its products globally online, on TV shopping channels, via independent retailers and in its own UK retail stores in Newton Aycliffe and Chesterfield.

The Newton Aycliffe store opened in May 2016 and includes themed shopping areas, a coffee shop, a central hub for workshops and two dedicated demonstration areas.

The store also operates an ongoing community engagement programme and runs a regular events programme.
