North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

The Stockton branch have donated £172.50 to the charity NeoAngels, which helps to care for premature and poorly new born babies and their families. The money was partially raised in branch and also includes a donation from the branches community fund.

NeoAngels supports families with children on the special care unit at North Tees Hospital. It was set up by parents Kirsty and Shaun Lowther who wanted to give something back after their twins were cared for whilst on the ward.

In celebration of its 160th birthday this year, Darlington Building Society are aiming to help raise £160,000 to local causes and charities such as NeoAngels.

Victoria Grimes, Customer Support Consultant at Darlington Building Society, said: “Darlington Building Society is honoured to be able to give a donation from our community fund to a very worthy cause. Kirsty and Shaun, who operate the charity, work tirelessly to support so many babies and families at North Tees Hospital and to be able to help them, even just a little bit is fantastic.

“For people to have someone to talk to and lean on when they are going through a very difficult time is such a wonderful gift to give, I encourage anyone who can to support NeoAngels.”

Shaun from NeoAngels, said: “We are so grateful to Darlington Building Society for its donation, it isn’t always easy to find funding for a small charity like ours so any donations we receive mean so much.”
