The company which was established by identical twins Jack and Tom Atha in 2012 has recently expanded after becoming the biggest supplier of Luxury student accommodation for Teesside University.

After visiting the state of the art office complex they decided to relocate their entire company to Darlington from Middlesbrough as their expansion plans include some major projects in the area, Jack explains:

“We feel Business Central is the ideal environment to expand our business. The size of the office space is perfect and it’s a lovely brand new building in which to meet our clients.

“Tom and I both have a passion for designing buildings and seeing them come to life, and enjoy the challenge that property development brings.

“We have some exciting projects coming up including a project in Middleton-St-George creating luxury family houses.  We also have a 40 bedroom student development starting in Middlesbrough.

“As well as the residential side we are also looking into the viability of two commercial sites in Darlington which have retail potential. We are always on the lookout for new ventures.”

Centre manager Vanessa Wood added:

“It’s fantastic to welcome another growing business to our Centre.  The passion Jack and Tom have for what they do is second to none.

“There are lots of improvements taking place in Darlington and I am delighted to see Atha Developments are going to be a part of them.

Business Central is located in the Central Park Enterprise Zone, Darlington. The North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) and Darlington Borough Council are working together on the £6.6 million project which has been supported with funding from the European Regional Development Fund and the Homes and Communities Agency.
