CHILDREN and young people with special educational needs have been invited to an event to see what future options are available to them.
The event, called Your Future Your Choice, is designed to help the young people and their families discover what education, training, financial and health programmes and advice opportunities are available in Redcar and Cleveland.
Taking place on Thursday 4 May between 3pm – 7pm the drop-in event will be held at Inspire to Learn on Normanby Road in Eston.
It is hoped the event, which aims to help provide support and advice for the ‘transition’ into adulthood, will be the perfect opportunity for young people, and their parents and carers, to ask about what could be next for them in terms of education, employment or training.
As well as employment and education options, there will also be representatives from health, social care, housing and transport organisations providing information and advice to attendees.
Cllr Craig Hannaway, Cabinet Member for Children, said: “Your Future Your Choice is an ideal opportunity for all the different providers to come together and showcase what they can offer for young people with special educational needs in Redcar and Cleveland.
“This is an opportunity all young people, and their families and carers, shouldn’t miss.”
