STOCKTON-on-Tees Borough Council is calling on individuals, businesses or voluntary and community organisations to come forward with ideas for the sustainable use of existing buildings in three of the Borough’s country parks.
The Council is inviting expressions of interest from anyone who may be interested in developing proposals for the Station House and Railway Carriage at Wynyard Woodland Park, former visitor centre at Billingham Beck Valley Country Park and the former visitor centre at Cowpen Bewley Woodland Park.
Councillor Mike Smith, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Housing, said: “The Council wishes to see these three country parks continue to develop and thrive and with this in mind, we are keen to work with businesses, people and organisations who are interested in introducing complementary services or activities which will enhance the visitor experience.
“We are also interested in proposals which will encourage community use and involvement and which might contribute in some way to the long-term management and sustainability of these popular country parks.”
Proposals put forward will need to be sensitive to the park settings and should be sympathetic to the conservation of the natural environment, promote the countryside as a place for a range of enjoyable activities and encourage wider community involvement
