Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Festive fun at Bishop Auckland Town Hall

It’s impossible to avoid the Christmas spirit in Bishop Auckland this winter as three festive shows come to the town.

First up, theatre company A Ship of Fools bring their new show Welcome to Paradise to Bishop Auckland Town Hall.

Following a fantastic run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the show is described by its creators as bringing to mind “a demented Morecombe and Wise” and promises to excite and horrify audiences in equal measure when it arrives on Saturday, 18 November.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a pantomime, and this year sees Dick Whittington and his Pirate Adventure at the town hall for five action-packed performances.

The show, which is suitable for all the family, follows brave Dick Whittington on his travels to London and then across the seven seas as he attempts to make his fame and fortune.

Filled with songs, jokes and topical references, the pantomime takes place from Saturday, 25 to Monday, 27 November.

Just a few days before Christmas comes children’s show The Princess and the Goblin, an exciting adventure about the goblin’s attempts to steal away Princess Irene.

Young ones will love the story which focuses on growing up, making friends and the importance of family and will be kept entertained through the songs and physical style of Northumberland Theatre Company.
