Final Call for Entries in 2015 Taylor Wimpey Tees Pride 10K

There’s still time to get your entry in for the 2015 Taylor Wimpey Tees Price 10k and mima 3k Fun Run.

Online entries are being taken until midnight on Wednesday (September 2) ahead of the event on Sunday, September 6.

And as competitors put the finishing touches to their training programmes, signs marking each kilometre of the race have been attached to lampposts along the route.

This year’s Taylor Wimpey Tees Pride 10k will start and finish at the same point on Hall Drive, adjacent to the junction with Cowley Road.

The new start/finish are will be complemented by the Athletes’ Village that will move from the Avenue of Trees to green space that sits between Hall Drive and Acklam Hall, providing runners with more warm-up space, and a to meet friends and relatives after the race and enjoy the entertainment and exhibitors at the Athletes’ Village.

Participants are reminded that no entries will be taken on the day for either the Taylor Wimpey Tees Pride 10k or the mima 3k Fun Run.

Family applications for the Fun Run can still be accepted via a written application form – these should be dropped off at Sport and Leisure Central Administration, 1st Floor, Southlands Leisure Centre no later than Wednesday, September 2

Organisers are reminding local residents that road closures around the course will take effect from 8.30am, with the morning’s events as follows:

8am Athletes’ Village opens

8.30am Full road closure around the course

8.50am mima Fun Run warm-up (main stage)

9.15am mima Fun Run (Avenue of Trees/Hall Drive)

9.30am Taylor Wimpey Elite 10k Wheelchair Race

9.45am mima Fun Run presentation (main stage)

10.20am Taylor Wimpey Elite 10k Wheelchair presentation

10.25am Taylor Wimpey 10k warm-up (main stage)

10.45am Taylor Wimpey 10k Start (Hall Drive/Cowley Road)

Noon Taylor Wimpey 10k presentation (main stage)

1pm Estimated re-opening of roads

Race Director Scott Hydon said: “We’re all set for another great event, and entries are still pouring in for the both the Taylor Wimpey 10k and the mima Fun Run.

“People still have until midnight on Wednesday to get those last minute entries in – but I’d just remind them that applications can now only be accepted online.

“We always prepare for a rush in the last few days – the Tees Pride 10k has proved itself to be one of the most popular events on the calendar, bringing people to the town from far and wide.”

Entry is £18 or £16 for affiliated runners. Entry for the Fun Run is £8, with family entries just £25 for two adults and up to three children aged under 16.

Please note that the closing date for entries to the Taylor Wimpey Tees Pride 10k and mima Fun Run is midnight on Wednesday, September 2.
