The Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Ken Dixon, led the short flag raising ceremony outside Stockton Town Hall to mark the beginning of Armed Forces Week nationally. Residents wishing to find out more about life in the armed services, past and present should come to Stockton Town Centre on Thursday 30 June – the Borough’s official Armed Forces Day.  From 10am to 3.30pm the High Street will be awash with military vehicles, equipment, displays and information stands. At 11.45am the Mayor’s Chaplain will also lead an open air service of thanks in front of the Rediscover Shop.
