RAF Air Cadets from 2344 (Longbenton) Squadron have Saluted our Forces last week by joining with veterans, dignitaries and serving personnel to celebrate Armed Forces Day at Debden Gardens Army Reserve Centre

Armed Forces Day provides an opportunity for the nation to show its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community. The cadets helped to raise the Armed Forces Day Flag with the Elected Mayor of North Tyneside, Mrs Norma Redfearn.

The cadets also received a pin badge from North Tyneside Council in recognition of their achievements and contribution to the community.

Cadet Regan Wood, 15, said, “I enjoyed taking part in the celebrations and it was good surprise to receive the pin badge.”

Longbenton Squadron is currently open to new members in Year 8 and above. If you’re up for a challenge then visit squadron at www.2344.org.uk.
