Dale & Valley Homes has teamed up with Bishop Auckland College to hold a free ‘Mental Health Awareness’ programme from Thursday, 8 September between 9am and 12.30pm.

The weekly course, which will take place at Mickle Grove Community Training Hub in Leeholme, will cover the potential causes and risks of mental distress, and the impacts on people’s lives if not manages correctly.

Dale & Valley Homes’ Community Training Project Coordinator, Kimberley Batey, said: “This course is ideal for anyone who is either dealing with a mental health issue themselves, or wants to better understand and help a family member or friend coping with a condition.

“By attending, people will have a better awareness of the issues surrounding mental health and its potential discrimination in their community.”

Places are limited and must be booked in advance by calling Kimberley on 0746 940 2619 or by emailingk.batey@daleandvalleyhomes.co.uk

Help with transport to attend can be arranged, as well as free onsite childcare for the under 5s.
