FREE energy saving advice and power company switching sessions are on offer in Middlesbrough next week.

The Big Energy Saving Week event takes place from Monday, October 20 to Friday, October 24 at the Middlesbrough Cycle Centre in the Bus Station.

It’s part of a drive by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to raise energy efficiency awareness in the run-up to winter.

The Middlesbrough event is one of a series of co-ordinated nationwide outreach events and a national, regional and social media campaign.

Sessions run from 10am to 4pm every day and are open to all, with energy advice and free energy saving measures on offer.

Middlesbrough Environment City Warmer Homes Project Officer Dennis Reeves said: “The aim of Big Energy Saving Week is to support vulnerable consumers to ensure they can keep warm in their own homes.

“There’s invaluable advice on offer to help everyone understand how they can save money by switching, be more energy-efficient and ensure they can access all the support available to help them manage their energy bills.”
