One of the North East’s most iconic venues is taking visitors from Sunderland to the Deep South for a night of live music and sizzling, American-style cuisine.
National Glass Centre Brasserie, run by 1879 Events Management, is crossing the Atlantic for Sounds of Summer: Bourbon and Blues on Friday September 25.
The special evening, which follows a similar sell out event in July, will feature live music from experienced blues performers George Shovlin and George Lamb, as well as the chance for diners to enjoy a themed three-course menu.
This includes a salad of baby gem lettuce with crumbled blue cheese and caramelised pecans, slow cooked daube of beef with grain mustard mash and a rye whiskey sauce and French apple cake with Bourbon anglaise and caramel ice cream.
There will also be an opportunity to try a variety of Bourbon whiskies – a drink which has been popular in the American south since the 18th century.
Steve Welch, Executive Head Chef at 1879 Events Management, which also manages private and corporate events at National Glass Centre said: “This event is designed to showcase the finest flavours of the South and highlight what American cuisine can offer beyond the expected hotdogs and burgers.
“Our themed menu has been perfectly paired with bourbon and live blues to enhance the experience and ensure diners can enjoy a true taste of this amazing region.”
