Daisy Chain farm and petting barn play a fundamental role in helping children and young people with autism and now you can sponsor an animal from just £5 a month.
There are lots of animals to choose from – guinea pigs, sheep, goats, Shetland ponies, rabbits, alpacas, chickens, ducks – and even some non-furry offerings such as lizards, snakes and stick insects – and they’re all getting festive for Christmas.
Sponsorship of Daisy Chain’s animals at the Norton farm site can make a real difference in developing the provision of sensory and learning opportunities for youngsters with autism.
Once you choose your new friend and make your donation you will receive an adoption certificate and welcome pack, a photograph, birthday and Christmas cards, your name displayed on the sponsor board in the barn, an e-newsletter to keep you updated with all the news of the farm plus two opportunities to visit your animal throughout the year.
Sponsorship will help to care for the animals which make such a huge difference to the children who visit and have the opportunity to interact with them, feed and groom them and develop relationships.
Student Sameer finds the benefits of spending time with the animals amazing. The 13-year-old spends two days a week at Daisy Chain and said: ’I love coming to Daisy Chain and working with the animals. The staff are really supportive and now I am confident working in the barn cleaning and feeding the animals.’
Daisy Chain chief executive Stuart Dexter said: ‘Our animals are an incredible resource. Many children struggle to develop relationships so being able to interact with the animals and help to take care of them is extremely enriching. We desperately need to increase our funding to meet the costs of our animal care.’
You can sponsor an animal for yourself or a sponsorship package would also make a great gift. Just visit www.daisychainproject.co.uk/sponsor-an-animal and download and complete the application form. If you want your sponsorship certificate before Christmas apply before December 15.
