Coble House, which is operated by Akari Care, received a clean bill of health from the independent regulator, following on from its previous positive CQC report last year.

The home is meeting all standards of care set out by the CQC after an inspection which judged the home’s services based on safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and its leadership.

The report included comments from the inspector, who said: “People and relatives thought the staff were effective in their work and were knowledgeable about their role and were able to demonstrate practical skills to be able to support them,” and “The relationships that we observed throughout the inspection between staff and people living at the service was one of warmth and kindness.”

Residents and relatives were also complimentary of the care at Coble House, adding: “The staff and the care they give is tremendously good,” and “It’s lovely here, I love it, the staff are very nice people, they’re all very good, everything is great, I’ve no complaints.” As well as: “You can’t fault the staff or the food or the care – it’s great, just great, I’m as safe as you can be anywhere.”

Maria McPherson, home manager at Coble House, said: “I am absolutely delighted with the findings from the CQC, which are a testament to the hard work from all the staff here at Coble House. The quality of care delivered to our residents is of the utmost importance and we always take on board constructive feedback.

“We are committed to providing a first class service to our residents and are now looking to build on this positivity.”

Lynn Fearn, deputy CEO at Akari Care, said: “I would like to congratulate Maria and her team for their continued hard work and commitment at Coble House. The quality of care delivered to our residents is our highest priority and is exemplified in this excellent CQC report, which follows on from last year’s glowing report.”

Located on North View, Coble House provides nursing and residential care for up to 52 elderly residents.
