Training is also integral to Doornbos and we have a commitment to apprenticeships. Talented students from Teesside are part of our team and have proved themselves to be a fantastic addition.

“Before I started my apprenticeship at Doornbos Equipment, I attended Middlesbrough College studying level 2 & 3 in electrical installation. This gave me a clearer perspective on what I wanted to do as a career which was engineering but not just electrical, I wanted to be involved in all aspects of it. I signed up to NETA training group and got accepted on to their program and shortly afterwards I was approached by Doornbos Equipment and was offered the exact apprenticeship I was looking for. I have now been working for Doornbos Equipment for just over 9 months and have enjoyed every day since. Each day is a challenge and I’m developing a multitude of skills along the way. The best thing about my apprenticeship is that I get to learn and train in a real environment which in my opinion just attending college doesn’t offer.”

“Prior to working at Doornbos Equipment I attended Macmillan academy and gained work experience on the reception desk which inspired me to take business and administration as my career choice. I looked on the apprenticeship website for job openings when I was contacted by the NECC to help me with my search for an apprenticeship. My CV was passed on to Doornbos Equipment where I attended an interview and a 3 day trial which I really enjoyed. My apprentice will shortly end and I will be taken on as a full time employee which I am extremely happy about.”
