North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Growing HR company doubles in size following record year

A North East based human resources and health and safety company has grown to twice its size following phenomenal success in 2016.

We do HR, a family-run agency which delivers human resources and health and safety management to businesses across the UK, has doubled both its turnover and clientele.

The growth has been driven by the Company’s expansion into learning and development and drug and alcohol testing within a number of larger companies looking to utilise a more extensive side of their HR management and health and safety function.

The Company has also continued to increase its London-based clients and to meet demand has recruited a new team member for We do HR, with plans for more appointments across all areas of the business.

Originally from Canada, Katrina Hutchinson, who is currently studying for her CIPD Level 7 in Human Resource Management, has joined the team as a HR Officer.

She said: “I’m looking forward to working with clients across a range of different industries and delivering exceptional customer service to make a real difference.”

“As a family-run company, it has a comfortable and friendly atmosphere with a close personal team, which is fantastic.”

Owner and Managing Director Alasdair Ross, who set up the Darlington-based Company in 2003, attributes his company’s success to its policy of offering tailored, quality services and the best value for its customers.

“Services based off a standard template just won’t work for everyone, one size really does not fit all,” he said.

“We always ensure our services cater to what our customers need, not just broad-brushing them with too much information that will not get read or isn’t practical to implement across their businesses.

“On top of this, we’ve worked hard to build strong trusting relationships with our clients, who can pick up the phone for support anytime. Our success in that endeavour meant our newer health and safety services have been welcomed with open arms, contributing to our incredible performance in 2016.”

Alongside Katrina’s appointment, We do HR and We do Health & Safety are looking to hire more HR, health & safety and learning & development officers to accommodate for the increased demand.

The Company also welcomed back Hannah Ross following a seven-month sabbatical to the USA where she gained valuable international business experience. She returns to her prior role in health and safety with an abundance of new skills in leadership and team management.

Alasdair is optimistic for We do HR and We do Health & Safety’s business forecasts for the coming year.
