A musician who has been entertaining north east audiences for more than 40 years is bringing his latest band to Bishop Auckland next weekend.

The Happy Cats, headed by former Lindisfarne frontman Marty Craggs, will play at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Saturday, 10 June, playing a mix of country, folk, jigs and reels and a hint of Cajun, all delivered in their own Celtic style.

As well as playing their own material, the three-piece group will be playing songs from well-known artists including Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and of course Lindisfarne – the band which Marty fronted from the 1980s until 2001.

“We are no strangers to Bishop Auckland Town Hall, the scene of many a crackin’ gig,” said Marty.

“We’re now looking forward to playing in the venue on June 10 before touring Spain and Ireland throughout July and August.”

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £10 or £8 for concessions.

To book call Bishop Auckland Town Hall box office on 03000 269 524.
