Harvey & Hugo will sponsor the Unsung Hero award, set to recognise employees who have made an important, yet unrecognised, contribution to the businesses they work for.

With its first annual ceremony on Friday 17th June at Wynyard Hall, the North East Employee of the Year Awards will honour staff members for their hard work and dedication to businesses across the region.

The ceremony will celebrate many aspects of employee talent, such as best apprentice, young employee and, of course, employee of the year.

Employees, managers, directors and board members are all being called on to nominate colleagues who deserve special recognition.

The event was founded by leading North East event management company, She’s Gott It!, following the decision by leading local businesses to showcase the North East’s most talented and hardworking employees.

She’s Gott it! managing director, Nickie Gott, said: “These awards are a real celebration of the fantastic wealth of talent we have in our region. Getting the support from regional businesses to make it happen really does demonstrate the need for recognition and highlighting our North East Employees and all they contribute to business. I urge all businesses to put forward their stars and give them the recognition they deserve”.

Harvey & Hugo will join a host of sponsors including Tesco Underwriting, George F. White and Sunderland College.

Charlotte Nichols, managing director at Harvey & Hugo, whose clients include businesses across the region, chose to support the category because of the importance of showcasing exceptional work.

She said: “We share a passion for the North East, so we are proud to be sponsoring an awards programme that celebrates the hard work and dedication of employees across the region, particularly when this has gone unrecognised.”
