ONE of the North East’s best loved venues is offering families an egg-stra special Easter.

St James’ Park, home to Newcastle United FC, is holding a special, EasterSunday, table d’hôte lunch on 5 April.

And not only will there be two extra special guests, but diners will also be given the chance to explore some of the stadium’s best kept secrets.

The lunch, created by the stadium’s award-winning Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events catering team, will begin with a choice of starters, including chicken liver pâté with toast and chutney, melon and fruit sorbet and seafood cocktail with Marie Rose sauce.

These will be followed by main course dishes, such as Northumbrian rib eye of beef, poached haddock fillet with a cheese sauce and vegetable and brie Wellington, before guests are served a choice of desserts, including ginger cake and custard and lemon or banoffee tarts.

The meal will be rounded off with coffee and Newcastle United mints and then diners will be taken on a mini tour of the stadium facilities.

The stadium’s mascots Monty and Maggie will also be making an appearance, taking on the role of Easter bunny by handing out a chocolate egg to every child in honour of the occasion.

The Easter Sunday Lunch costs £15.95 for two courses and £18.95 for three courses and a separate children’s menu – and colouring sheets – will be available.
