Health and Wellbeing to top Forum Agenda

Screen Shot 2016-03-23 at 22.08.03People living in the Hebburn can learn more about the health and wellbeing of South Tyneside when their local community forum meets on Monday 4 April.

Members and local residents will receive a presentation on the Director of Public Health’s Annual Report which focuses on community-led approaches to improving the Borough’s health and wellbeing.

The presentation will outline the key health issues for residents including life-limiting illnesses,drinking to excess, smoking during pregnancy and unhealthy weight.

The forum will also be given details about the benefits of developing the work already underway with communities to help tackle these issues through improving the Borough’s overall health and wellbeing.

Councillor Jim Sewell, Chairman of the Hebburn Community Area Forum, said: “It is important that the Council continues to work with our partners and communities to ensure the health and wellbeing of residents.

“This is a great opportunity for residents to find out more about the health and wellbeing of the Borough as a whole and learn how the development of community-led approaches can help improve residents’ health.

Members of the press and public are welcome to attend the meeting, which takes place at 10am, onMonday 4 April, at Hebburn Central, Hebburn.
