Housebuilder’s festive fundraising raises over £400 for local charities

Barratt Developments North East has been embracing the Christmas spirit by holding a festive fundraising day in Newcastle. Staff from Barratt Developments, which includes both Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, have raised over £400 for its two local charities through a variety of Christmas activities. The money raised will be equally shared between Tiny Lives, that supports premature and ill new born babies, and Marie Curie North East.

  • The housebuilder hosted a fun-filled day at its Newcastle Head Office, as well as a raffle for Christmas hampers across a number of developments in the region.
  • Activities on the fundraising day included a festive bake sale, a raffle, a Christmas-themed quiz and games.
  • The star of Barratt Developments North East’s festive fundraising efforts was Vince Chatterton, a Contract Manager who was named as ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ after taking part in both ‘Sober October’ and ‘Brave the Shave’, raising over £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support throughout the year.

Becky Mortimer, Marketing Manager at Barratt Developments North East, commented:

“The work undertaken by Tiny Lives and Marie Curie North East is so vital and we are proud to be able to support them as our chosen charities. The festive fundraising day was great and also showcased some of the fantastic charity work we have done throughout the year, which has raised over £9,000. We look forward to further fundraising efforts that we have planned for next year.’’
