Ryedale District Council will shortly be undertaking a household canvass across the area.

Every year we are required to check the details of everyone registered to vote in households across Ryedale to ensure the information we hold is up to date.  We do this between September and November.

We will be sending a letter to all households with the information we currently have on the register for that property and ask them to let us know of any changes.

When the letter arrives, please check the details and respond to it as soon as possible. If you are able to use the web link included in the letter to respond, then it will save the council money.

Janet Waggott, Electoral Registration Officer said: “We need to make sure that our electoral register records are correct. Being registered to vote gives you the right to participate at elections and could improve your credit rating.”

If you are unsure or require further information, please get in touch with our Elections team by email to elections@ryedale.gov.uk or by ringing us on 01653 600666.
