Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Housing group asks are you winter ready?

Screen Shot 2015-11-02 at 11.39.46A County Durham housing association is preparing its tenants for winter through an online campaign.

County Durham Housing Group’s ‘winter warmers’ promotion offers top tips for around the home, how to keep fit and well during the colder months, and also signposts other advisory services like the Met Office and NHS.

As part of the group local landlords Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes are working together to prepare customers should bad weather hit using the hashtag #winterwarmers on their social media channels.

Jill Ancrum, County Durham Housing Group Communications, said: “We’ve seen in the last few years the disruption that winter can cause, especially for our more vulnerable tenants, so we want to raise awareness of the support networks available should bad weather hit.

“Winter can also be an extremely busy time for our repairs lines so by offering guidance on how to prevent things like burst pipes and condensation, we hope to make the colder climes a lot less problematic.”
