How To Clean Your Hob

If you want to get tenants into your property, you need to ensure that it is in the best possible shape.  There are many things that you can do to give a good impression and having a clean hob is one of them.

Clean Hobs Transform Your Rental Property

The hob is often the focal point of the kitchen and nothing will put a potential tenant off faster than the focal point of the room being grimy.  The problem is that the hob will often let the kitchen down. This is due to the fact that they are easily tarnished with burnt-on food. Your previous tenant is also likely to have not cleaned it very regularly.

When your previous tenant moved out and you see your property again, the thought of bringing your hob back to its former glory might seem like a monumental task.  Fortunately, you can make this task easier when you know what to do to clean the hob. There are certain steps that you should take which will help you restore your hob.

The Tools You Need

ConnectCleaners advise that to clean your hob, you ideally need to have a bucket where the removable parts can soak.  While you can clean these parts in the sink, it is generally easier in a large bucket. You should also have a multi-surface cleaner handy for the grime and burnt-on food.

To clean the body of the hob, you need a soft microfiber cloth.  The cloth does not have to be microfiber, but it does need to be soft.  The cloth should not scratch the surface of the hob when you clean with it.  A small soft brush or toothbrush will also be handy for the areas where your cloth may not reach.

For the lingering dirt on the rings, grate, and burners, you will need a soft scrubber.  A dry rag for buffing everything after cleaning is also necessary. To get the final sparkle on the stainless steel hob, you should have some baby oil or similar ready.

How To Clean A Stainless Steel hob

A stainless steel hob needs to be cared for differently than an electric or ceramic hob.  There are some steps that you need to take to ensure that your hob is as clean as you want it to be. The first step is to remove the grate, burners, and rings

Once you have removed these items, you will need to place them in a mixture of hot water and dish soap.  The surface of the hob should then be sprayed with your cleaner and this should be left for a minute or two.  After this time, you will need to wipe the hob surface down with your soft cloth. The toothbrush can be used to reach to difficult areas that the cloth is not able to get to.
