A NEWCASTLE-based call-centre, has raised over £15,000 for a North East charity as part of its ongoing commitment to support local causes.
Since joining forces with The Alan Shearer Foundation in November 2015, Inspired Outsourcing has raised £15,659.99 for the charity as a result of several fundraising initiatives.
The money raised by Inspired will be used to provide free sensory and specialist leisure activities and offer respite breaks to disabled children and adults in the region at the Alan Shearer Centre in Newcastle.
Now, The Alan Shearer Foundation, which raises funds on behalf of St Cuthberts Care to support people with complex disabilities and acute sensory impairments, will become the company’s long-term charity partner, with Inspired setting a fundraising target of £20,000 for the coming year.
Tracy Taylor, Head of Resource, said: “We’re delighted to be able to give a donation of this size to the Alan Shearer Foundation.
“The work they do is so worthwhile and the money will hopefully make a huge difference to the lives of people in our region.
“Here at Inspired we’re committed to helping local causes wherever we can, whether that’s through a charity partnership or ad-hoc support.
“The team has worked really hard to raise these funds and the result is testament to everyone’s dedication to hitting our target. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with the Foundation this year.”
The team at Inspired organised a number of fundraising activities throughout 2016 including bake-sales, dress down days and 10K runs, as well as taking part in organised events such as the Great North Run.
This year, Inspired Outsourcing has also set up a social and charity committee made up of employees across the business to organise even more fundraising events to help reach its ambitious target.
Alan Shearer, who set up the Foundation is May 2012 said; “my Foundation is a branch of St Cuthbert’s Care; set up to exclusively support the Alan Shearer Activity Centre.
“I’m extremely grateful to have the support, enthusiasm and energy from Inspired Outsourcing. They’ve raised a fantastic sum of money for the foundation and it will really make a difference.
