The six-figure sum agreement will provide a significant boost to the Beeswing Ladies Day in July, after the racecourse struck a deal to extend its sponsorship arrangement which has been in place since 2013.

The most popular fixture of the flat season sees over 20,000 racegoers from across the region descend upon Gosforth Park for a day of glitz, glamour and top horse racing action.

The valuable deal coincides with a significant investment at Gosforth Park, which will see the introduction of a new £11 million all-weather track, alongside the existing turf jump track and further improvements to the racecourse facilities from early 2016.

David Williamson, executive director at Newcastle Racecourse, said: “Newcastle Racecourse is pleased to announce the extended sponsorship agreement with longstanding supporter, Collingwood Insurance.

“The Beeswing Ladies Day is the most popular raceday in the Flat calendar and the deal presents a fantastic opportunity for both parties.  We look forward to once again working with this well-established brand and thank them for their continued support.”

Steve Welton, CEO of Collingwood Insurance UK, said: “One of the finest social events in the North East calendar, the Beeswing Ladies Day is always a fantastic raceday to be associated with and it’s great to be involved at a time when the racecourse is investing heavily in its future with the development of its all-weather track.

“I’m thrilled to extend the offer to once again support the racecourse.  This is a significant investment for us and one that I hope demonstrates our commitment to racing for the long term.”
