intu Eldon Square brings smiles to shoppers as it celebrates National Customer Service Week

Shoppers visiting intu Eldon Square last week were treated to a host of fun activities and surprises as it celebrated world class customer service.

During National Customer Service Week (1-5 October) the shopping centre’s signature customer service initiatives including chatty hour, joy jars and fun academy were ramped up even more with a week-long campaign of activities.

Across the week, intu Eldon Square’s Games Master challenged shoppers to take part in a variety of giant games on the mall, while the fun academy provided shoppers with live magic and balloon art with trained staff making over 700 balloons.

On World Smile Day (5 October), random acts of kindness included giveaways at intu Eldon Square’s very own “Smile Station” where shoppers were asked to share what truly makes them smile.

Shopping centre owner intu celebrated world class customer service across its nationwide portfolio of flagship retail destinations. Placing customers at the heart of its business is key to intu’s strategy supported by its customer insight programme,Tell intu, which invites customers to share their feedback and experiences of visiting an intu centre.

Sharon Somerville, customer service manager at intu Eldon Square said: “We had an excellent week celebrating National Customer Service Week. Delivering world class customer service day in, day out is incredibly important to us, it’s part of our DNA. Our staff work hard to make each and every customer feel happier than when they first walked through the door. The week provided a great opportunity to shine a light on the importance of customer service and the vital role it plays in not only our business but in the industry.”

Phil Steele, general manager at intu Eldon Square, said: “National Customer Service Week was a fantastic chance for our staff to come together and demonstrate our company ethos whilst spreading joy throughout the centre. We had some excellent activities happening during the week which provided our shoppers with some well-deserved fun and excitement.”

National Customer Service Week is a week-long opportunity to raise awareness of customer service and the vital role it plays in successful business practice and the growth of the UK economy.
