A CAMPAIGN to help people in Middlesbrough who are not claiming their welfare entitlement has now uncovered more than £1.5m.
The money has been identified during a series of It’s Your Right To Claim advice surgeries that have been held in the town.
It’s Your Right To Claim was launched after studies found that billions of pounds of benefits go unclaimed nationally every year, including by pensioners, families and people most in need.
The next sessions are taking place in Newport Settlement Community Hub, St Paul’s Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 5NQ from Monday, June 22 to Wednesday June 24.

- Tuesday, June 23, Newport Settlement Community Hub. 10am – 4pm.
- Wednesday, June 24, Newport Settlement Community Hub. 1pm – 4pm.
The Financial Inclusion Group feels that at a time when a lot of people are struggling financially, it is important that they claim all of the benefits to which they are entitled.
The benefits system can be complicated, and the aim of the campaign is to help people through it effectively.
