Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Job creation cooked up at Flame ahead of Stockton launch

18707To supplement its ambitious growth plans when it opens its doors in Stockton this February, Flame Heating Spares is roaring ahead with job creation in the area.

The growing North East heating and plumbing merchant is to continue its expansion in the region, ahead of its Portrack Lane launch, and is demonstrating its commitment to the area with a planned recruitment drive.

Flame Heating Spares currently operates four branches and following its Stockton opening, which will be its first in the Tees Valley, the firm expects to open more outlets in the North East this year. This is expected to double the workforce to around 40, with the first role, a branch supervisor, to be filled in Stockton.

John Savage, managing director of Flame Heating Spares, said: “I am always keen to employ staff members who possess knowledge of the local area, which has paid dividends at each of branches, so far. I am now seeking someone to support the work of our incoming branch manager at Stockton, with the hope of creating further job opportunities once we have established the brand on Teesside.”

In 2015, the firm launched its fourth branch in Sunderland and invested in a new head office in Gateshead, culminating in the appointment of Simon Scott as business development manager, to help drive the company’s growth plans.

Mr Savage added: “We believe there is potential in the Stockton market and we are excited by this latest expansion. The cold snap is beginning to take its toll, despite a mild Christmas period and in the run-in, so we are receiving more enquiries and I expect this increased demand to continue.”
