Screen Shot 2016-03-03 at 14.11.09County Durham jobseekers can take advantage of two free courses providing valuable advice about transitioning into work.

The free training sessions, organised by County Durham Housing Group, will be held on:

  • Thursday, 10 March, from 10am to 12.30pm at Kasko House in Blackhall
  • Wednesday, 16 March, from 10am to 12.30pm at Murton Housing Partnership on Woods Terrace.

Claire Maddison, Employment and Skills Officer at County Durham Housing Group, said: “People can be fearful about starting a new job if they aren’t aware of the basic procedures that they need to follow.

“Our two free informal workshops will provide guidance on a number of key areas, including who to contact if you’re offered employment and how to find out what you’re entitled to.

“Anyone wanting further information, or to book their free place at a workshop, should email employability@cdhg.co.uk or call us on 0191 349 7657.”

County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Team provides support to tenants of Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes to find a job, access training, gain apprenticeships and venture into self-employment.

Details of future workshops across the county can be found at http://www.countydurhamhousinggroup.co.uk/events-calendar
